2 weeks.....

Late night blog...After being woken up by my grandfather @ 7:45 AM this morning after a late night out with Ang and Matt (the future Mr. and Mrs. Carey), I fell asleep around 6 after a great Eagles Game, watched with my whole fam, as we were celebrating my Godfather's 50th Birthday!! It is premature, however, He will not physically be 50 until the 18, which he reminded me of as soon as I walked in today :) Amazing company and converstation, Great Food (stocks, be jealous) and Beverage...my cousin MaryKate's Junior Prom is April 4th!! A dress and a date must be found!! Mary is a Nazareth Gal...she's probably the coolest chick I have ever met. Its great to watch her come of age...doing the same things I did...although I was a Basil's...well, we all know what! And of course, having what i now refer to as my "new cousin" Kristine..:)....family gatherings are one of my favorite things to do. I'd don't know where I'd be without them!!!
So how bout' those BIRDS!!! I must admit, I haven't watched a full game this season besides this one. I know, I know...its just been too many years of heartbreak. Its like a bad relationship that I always go back to!!! Heartbreaking!!
However, looking good, can't wait till next Sunday...Defiantly a trip to a local Frankford Ave watering hole for the game!!
Ah, the 2 weeks!! Yes, officially today, the 12th, is two weeks until I start Empire Beauty School. I am extremely excited, however, How excited are all my friends and family who read this will be getting free spa days after I obtain my certification in October? I know. You really should be. :) I know I am going to make a great cosmostologist. :) Tomorrow, Mommy is getting her hair done...short and highlights. Compliments of Ang Bonino, the best hairdresser ever!!
I picked up the book "He's really not that into you" (don't know the authors) b/c its coming out in theatres soon and looks fab... I like to read the book before I see the movie...and realized that it sort of a self help book!!!! Here I think I am buying fiction and this thing has me writing down reasons why I shouldn't call a guy. I might just throw that on half.com, my new way of making money:) My grandfather and I are also selling on ebay..husslas. :)
Well, Goodnight to everyone...xoxo

After the HOLIDAZE!!!!

Here I sit, fat free hot chocolate in mug. ugggggggggh. I do love the holidays, but the 8 million pounds i gain during them is enough to make me want to jump off a bridge!!! FYI...be afraid of Wii Fitness!!! Kris received one from Jim for Christmas and after getting on it, it actually lowered my self esteem!! :) j/k, I'm actually very conceited. The Christmas tree finally came down yesterday, so i believe that it is officially the end of Christmas which makes me sad :( I wait all year for it and it goes by so damn fast!!! I am trying to keep Christmas here by placing my Yankee Candle "Christmas Eve" Reed Diffuser right in my office. Mind over matter:)
Christmas was great this year, the whole family came to my house, and we ate, drank and were merry. I then went to my Mommy's, where i saw the rest of my fam...My aunt Trish and Uncle Mark who live far.....its always a great time when they come down...we make fun of each other to no end, and my uncle usually ends up programming my phone in french or something :) My Godmother got me this really cool scent stories thing from Yankee Candle...yes, i am obsessed....and overall, i was spoiled in a way that shouldn't be allowed for a 26 year old. :) I love having all my cousins within walking distance, so while we were all home, we spent some nights playing old school board games with a new school technology twist on them...lol...somehow, in the game of electronic life, i was a neurosurgeon making 1.5 million a year, and still managed to come in last place. go figure. :) there was shopping and lunching, hanging out with my girls and their kiddies... and overall a great Christmas season. :)
New Years was supposed to be low key this year, but after speaking with my friends from college, a house party in South Philly was decided on. I made pasta salad, of course, (if you've had my pasta salad, you understand) bought 2 bottles of vodka, vanilla and watermelon, of course (if you know me, you understand..lol..) and headed to 5th and Ritner for the festivities to begin....and that they did!! We all had a great time reminiscing about the past, talking about the future...looks like i am going to have plenty of clients when i am done cosmetology school....and enjoying the present!!! After cleaning the house and doing all the dishes in my drunken stupor, I finally passed out around 330 am, only to wake up at 8:00 AM!!!! ugh!!! I stayed at my friend Lucy's where the party was, and we decided to go to the parade on broad street, as she does every year. So, given that the temps were in the 20's, we both put 3 layers on and made the trek to broad street to see them mummers!!! it was my first actual parade, i usually just wait to go to 2 street for the boozing after the parade, and it was GREAT!!!! I'll post some pics below...i must say, South Philly is such a different world...Lucy's friends who live off broad street open their house to everyone and anyone...(thanks Stace!!!) The beer is flowing, the food is plentiful and the mummers are on the TV so you can still watch them while warming up from standing on broad street watching them!!! We stayed on Broad street long enough to have to leave to warm up on the trek home....we then prepared for 2 street...the only way i can explain this to someone who has never been there is it is Mardi Gras in Philadelphia (minus the whole flashing thing, although it probably has happened.) Now, usually my preparation for 2 street is a bottle of some sort of flavored vodka and a roll of toilet paper. However, since i am a..what do you call it...."responsible woman"...whatever that means....i went sans vodka and packed my tp and some bottles of miller lite. This being my first sober time on 2 street, i realized that it is, in fact, 20 degrees out there!!! We had a great time, like i said before, the atmosphere in south philly on this day is amazing. Due to my soberness, i could only take the cold for about 2 hours. I bought 2 extremely overpriced hot dogs....went to my car, drove home to my warm bed and my sexy man, hector :) where i proceeded to pass out for 13 hours. Now its clean up time...right now i am obsessed with selling things on ebay (for lack of a better job) and its working out well..I've got 2 textbooks sold that good ol' CCP wouldn't buy back after i spent over a hundred dollars on them...won't miss the whole book thing....
So we are officially on a countdown...18 days till I start Empire Beauty School :)
Wish me luck!!!
Hope everyone has a happy, healthy New Year!!!
xoxo
